Galentine’s Day

One of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to take life as it comes and to not say no to opportunities presented to me. So basically… a fancier way of saying yolo?

Nevertheless this year I want to take the year with both hands and squeeze out as much life from it as possible. This way of thinking resulted in yesterday being the best Valentine’s Day (or GALentines day as I like to call it) I’ve ever had. What started as my fellow single gal friend and I having a picnic with yummy food and bottles of cheap bubbly, resulted in us bumping into someone we knew, with his friends that we just met asking us to join them for drinks at a bar. We were then bought shots by the boys and by a lovely female stripper who was giving us really useful tips on hair care. The whole bar was filled with fun energy as even the bar staff took shots with us and were singing along to whatever song they put on. It was one of those days where you think to yourself “How the heck did I end up here?” But we were having so much fun we didn’t care.

As lame as it sounds, life is there to be enjoyed and although there tends to be so much other stresses and pressures we also have to pay attention to it doesn’t mean you can’t let loose once in awhile. If you know me at all, you know I am a big supporter of letting loose.

As I’ve touched on in other posts, I feel like clothes can link to your emotions. They can either reflect how you feel or your emotions can respond to how you’re dressed. I don’t know if I was in this mood already, whether the bottles of bubbly helped or whether I was reacting to how I was dressed. No matter what though, the birds on my skirt, the flow of the kimono and the fun glitter of my top helped me feel like a glittery free spirit who was ready to let loose and simply enjoy herself (which I did). A pastel nymph if you will.

Love,

Billie x
